Who We Are
Natasha Asselstine Co-Founder, Creative Director
For the past few years I have fallen in love with cookbooks. Not just for the recipes, but for the smell and texture of the pages, the delicate fonts and imagery, the stories and the traditions. It is in cookbooks that all my senses come alive by all things I love: food, photography, heritage and design. But it wasn’t enough – I wanted one for me. I wanted a book that captured my own childhood memories and my own mom’s most treasured recipes to share within my family. It was this desire that motivated me to put my background in photography, publishing and design to work and build our own family heirloom. I love every aspect of it and I look forward to helping you preserve your most cherished memories and recipes, too.

I love cookbooks. Always have. Over the years I have collected hundreds (yes hundreds) of cookbooks, both used and new. I read them like I would a magazine. They are more than a collection of recipes; each cookbook tells a story. Local chef and author, Rob Feenie, said it best in his book Rob Feenie Cooks at Lumiere: “Why and what I cook are my passions and beliefs, shared with anyone who cares to listen. Growing up, I listened to my mother’s food and heard it tell me how much she cared. It was a language I wanted to speak.” Through this process I look forward to being able to help others tell their stories through recipes old and new, capturing moments in time with memories, pictures, and images of handwritten recipes with notes smudged with years of use. I love to write and all aspects of the storytelling process. I know that my family has some great stories around food. I am sure yours does too.
